Together let’s protect our children’s planet… by recycling your used schoolbags
The child industry, a poor student of sustainable development!
The fashion and children's industries are among the least eco-responsible:
• 60% of clothes end up in the trash in the first year.
• The average lifespan of a toy is 6 months
• 80% of toys end up as waste every year.
Fast fashion, the outsourcing of production, the difficulty of recycling, the cost of labor, ... so many challenges that few brands dare to take on. However, we have a responsibility towards our first users: children!
At Caramel & cie, we rolled up our sleeves and decided to change things. On our own scale (at first!). We started small six years ago with fair trade production; then by making sturdier, longer-lasting school bags; then we set up a free repair program; and finally, we switched to recycled polyester.
Today we are working to reduce our carbon footprint and above all we are embarking on a ambitious program to collect our used and unused school bags to recycle them and give them a second life.
By participating in this initiative which is set to grow, you will help protect our children's planet.
Concretely, how does it work?
You bring it back, we recycle it.
Bring back your unused or used Caramel & cie school bags and we will give them a second life (depending on their condition):
• By repairing them
Once repaired, the schoolbags are resold for the benefit of associations linked to children and the planet.
• By dismantling them
Once disassembled, the materials, which can be (this represents approximately 80% of our school bags), will be recycled or reused in new eco-designed products that will be included in specific collections.
All proceeds from the resale of repaired school bags will go to charities and all proceeds from eco-design collections will go to fund this program.
