Charming encounter with a pragmatic young man
Friday evening, 4:30 p.m., in the usual hustle and bustle of the nursery school corridors, a thunderous "Happy Holidays!" rings out.
There are those who will take the train, others the plane, some the car... They are going to their grandparents, to my sister's, to go skiing, to the countryside or to the sun, in short: they are going!
Milo, a pragmatic young man of four and three-quarters years old, is going to take the train with his parents for three and a half hours. He's packing his bag, giving us time to observe him and ask him a few questions:
Are you packing your vacation bag?
Yes, we're taking the train tomorrow. It's the big train, it goes super fast!
What do you put in your bag?
Well, my stuff for the train!
What's your stuff for the train? Would you mind showing me?
Of course! I took my rainbow unicorn because my big dragon doesn't fit. There's my remote-controlled car, but I don't think Dad will approve, my story box, my book, my pencil case, my helmet. I'll put my blanket in later because I want to cuddle him again.
Do you still have room in it?
Yes, I'm going to bring my picnic and water bottle for lunch. Since we're having a picnic on the train, we brought chips!
And you're the one carrying all this?
Well yes! They're my toys! Sometimes I also roll the suitcase, but it's really big so Mom takes it and when I'm too tired, I sit on it. But my bag is the right size for me, I can take it all the time.
Did you choose your bag?
No, Santa brought it to me. It's so cool because there are lots of dinosaurs: this one is a Stegosaurus because it has scales on its back. He's friends with this one, he laughs. I know how to draw Diplodocus really well! And unicorns too!
