5 Tips for Choosing the Right School Bag for Your Child

Choosing the perfect school bag for your child is not always easy: you have to please your dear offspring, meet the demands of schools and protect the growing backs of our little ones.

Fortunately, at Caramel & Cie, we know the subject well and we're more likely to share good tips!

1. Resistant

These school bags are going to be a real adventure! Our little angels are going to show them all sorts of things, and we wish them all the best.

The seams should be strong, the outer bottoms reinforced, and the materials durable. A little tip: if it stands up on its own, you're off to a good start.

2. Light

Think again: a sturdy school bag can also be lightweight! Empty, it should not exceed 1.2 kg because you'll be filling it up. Always be careful not to overload your children. A little tip: when filled, it should not exceed 10% of your child's weight. If it's full, help them!

3. Comfortable

A well-made school bag should be gentle on your child's back and shoulders. Choose a bag with padded, honeycomb straps (which are breathable). For elementary school, it's best if this padding extends to the back, as the load will be heavier.

Good support (wide, adjustable and padded straps) helps cushion the impact of the schoolbag on the back and maintains good posture for our growing children.

4. Practice

We like that there are several pockets to organize our things and, at the same time, our minds.

Choose a school bag that is waterproof on the outside as well as the inside: it will stay pretty for longer and you won't have to worry about applesauce exploding!

5. Character!

Allow your child to express their character and individuality with a school bag with original graphics. It's so much easier to find your things when they don't look like everyone else's, and your child is unique, right?
